EIDE’S ARTWORK

Eide was born in Singapore and spent much of her early life traveling the world with her parents. She did not speak until she was six years old, and never received any formal education. This gave her the time to follow her interest in art; painting and sculpting became her main form of expression. At the age of ten, she studied sculpting with Tuck William and painting with Waneen Jumkal. In 1995 she moved to the Hawaii, making her home the island of Molokai, which always been a great source of inspiration. “I found myself at home. Nature is my inspiration --- the richness of the elements in the tropical environment, the play of light, forms, color and movement. I want to bring this richness into my work to express nature’s harmony, the connection between earth, plants, animals and humans...all as one.”
